Install SSL Certificate iPlanet Enterprise Server

Download and copy your certificate files to your server

Download your SSL certificate and support files by clicking on the download link in your fulfillment email or from your GeoCerts SSL Manager account. Unzip the files and copy them into the directory where you will keep your certificates. Some files in the zip may or may not be used depending on your server type.

Step 1: Install GeoTrust_Intermediate.txt Intermediate #1

  1. Select the server instance to manage and click Manage.
  2. Click Security.
  3. Click Install Certificate.
  4. Select Server Certificate Chain.
  5. Enter the key pair file password.
  6. Enter a Certificate Name (e.g., GeoTrust Extended Validation Root)
  7. Select Message text (with headers).
  8. Paste the contents of the GeoTrust_Intermediate.txt file into the box and click OK.
  9. Click Add Server Certificate.
  10. Do not shutdown and restart the server, proceed to Step 2.

Step 2: Install GeoTrust_Intermediate_2.txt Intermediate #2

Complete this section ONLY if you're cert is an Extended Validation (EV) certificate. If not, skip to STEP 3.

  1. Select the server instance to manage and click Manage.
  2. Click Security.
  3. Click Install Certificate.
  4. Select Server Certificate Chain.
  5. Enter the key pair file password.
  6. Enter a Certificate Name (e.g., EV Intermediate CA)
  7. Select Message text (with headers).
  8. Paste the contents of the GeoTrust_Intermediate_2.txt file into the box and click OK.
  9. Click Add Server Certificate.
  10. Do not shutdown and restart the server, proceed to Step 3.

Step 3: Install the SSL Server Certificate

  1. Select the This Server option.
  2. Enter the key pair file password.
  3. Enter a Certificate Name (e.g., www.mydomain.com).
  4. Select Message text (with headers).
  5. Paste the contents of the your_domain_com.txt file into the box and click OK.
  6. Click Add Server Certificate.
  7. Click Apply.
  8. Select the apply changes that allows the server to restart.

Verify Installation

 To verify if your certificate is installed correctly, use our Certificate Installation Checker.

Test your SSL certificate by using a browser to connect to your server. Use the https protocol directive. For example, if your SSL was issued to secure.mysite.com, enter https://secure.mysite.com into your browser.

Your browser's padlock icon  will be displayed in the locked position if your certificate is installed correctly and the server is properly configured for SSL.
